ISSUES is pleased to present Never Forget, Jacob Broms Engblom’s second solo show at the gallery. The exhibition introduces an asynchronous image novel based on the screenplay of Chris Marker’s La Jetée (1963). Besides being distributed online, it is here presented as a number of physical photo albums, photographic prints and an offline video.

By colliding Marker’s imagery with the forgettable Avatar franchise and an unforgettable event (as well as several dreamhacks), Never Forget exists in relation to our decaying digital memories and automated subjectivities of our endless spiraling now. A few thousand found images mutated into a pool of half a million synthetic images compressed into a semi-automated fragmented narrative.

Visit www.neverforget.pics for more.

Some works in the exhibition are made in collaboration with Berlin-based artist Alex Valijani.
